- What is Children's Liturgy?
Children's Liturgy occurs during the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Immediately following the Opening Prayer, children are dismissed to a nearby classroom where the Sunday Gospel and readings are proclaimed in a manner they can understand and enjoy. We enrich their worship with discussion, prayers, songs and activities, as well as raise awareness of God's love, the humanity of Jesus, the Seasons of the Church, the understanding of symbols in the Mass and the context of the Bible. Children return to Mass after the recitation of the Creed.
Our program makes the children's experience of church meaningful, while helping them to grow in the faith of the Catholic Church and develop as full and active members of our Parish Community.
- Who runs Children’s Liturgy?
Children's Liturgy is run by parents/adults in the community who love to share their faith with the children. They use a variety of resources that are provided by the Religious Education Office. We are always looking for people to help as either a session leader or helper. If you are interested in helping, then please contact Donna Leddy, Director of Religious Education, at email@example.com.
- Who can attend Children's Liturgy?
Children ages 3-9 are welcome to join us - no registration is necessary. Younger siblings may attend if accompanied by a parent.
