The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a liturgical celebration of God’s forgiveness of sins, through which we, as sinners, are reconciled with both God and the larger community. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is normally received for the first time prior to First Eucharist. The 2nd graders of St. Leonard’s Faith Community prepare for First Reconciliation throughout the Fall with study and a family retreat and the Sacrament is celebrated during Advent.
First Holy Communion
As baptized members of God’s family, our 2nd graders are invited to join us around the table of the Lord and receive Jesus in their First Holy Communion. In preparation for this sacrament, children are guided by their parents and formed by the example of our parish community. Preparation includes class study, weekly Mass attendance and a retreat for students and their families.
