Baptism
Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water and in the word.” (CCC, paragraph 1213) Baptism is celebrated with the children of registered, active members of St. Leonard Faith Community or residents of St. Leonard Senior Living Center. Arrangements for Baptism should be made in advance as preparation is required for parents. Contact the Faith Community Office for more information.
First Eucharist
As baptized members of God’s family, our second graders are invited to join us around the table of the Lord and receive Jesus in their First Eucharist. In preparation for this sacrament, children are guided by their parents and formed by the example of our parish community. Preparation includes class study, weekly Mass attendance and a retreat for students and their families.
